2007 proved to be a truly busy year for artist Shane W. Evans, the release of 2 new children’s book titles, numerous illustration and design projects, travel to Ethiopia, Dubai and Europe, the opening of the over 2000 sq. ft. “dream studio” not to mention the numerous school and library visits and community efforts that the artist was engaged in. Dream Studio/Gallery opened it’s doors this year on 07-07-07, since it’s opening new projects have hit the computers and drafting tables, original art has sold from walls, the studio has brought a crew of talented artist and has hosted wonderful events for the community at large. The popularity of events at dream studio have increased rapidly seeing new faces at every event introducing families, avid art collectors and a community to this dream. From the visual art of Shane W. Evans’s award winning children’s books to the soulful sounds of musicians Sandbloom and Jsun, 711 East 31st has transformed in a short time from a space with no life to a destination for creativity and rejuvenation. The line up for 2008 is already looking to be one that will bring talent in from all over as well as bringing new artistic projects and the completion of long awaited projects for followers of Evans’s work.
